Kimberly Summers has handled hundreds of cases, having devoted her practice exclusively to criminal defense for the past five years. Having dozens of trials under her belt, her understanding of criminal law and skill as a trial lawyer sets her apart, and she is regularly recognized as being one of New York’s top young attorneys.

Since joining The Blanch Law Firm in 2007, Ms. Summers has handled, counseled and represented clients on a wide range of criminal issues, including: violent crimes; sex crimes; white collar crimes; federal embezzlement; federal conspiracy; drug crimes; DUI; and more. During her time with the Blanch Law Firm she has successfully obtained dismissals on felony cases in nearly every jurisdiction in the New York City area where the clients were exposed to over twenty years incarceration. Her skill as a criminal defense attorney is defined by her impressive track record of success. Ms. Summers is heavily involved in all aspects of her clients cases, from the investigation stage to disposition and her career already includes a great deal of experience in high-profile legal matters, as well as a long list of awards and recognition from everywhere she has worked and studied.

At The Blanch Law Firm, Ms. Summers handles a variety of legal matters, including high profile criminal defense matters and complex federal arbitrations. She also continues to develop her reputation with efforts outside the firm, including serving as a member of the highly respected Capital Punishment Committee of the Bar Association of the City of New York, where she served as chair of the 2008 habeas training seminar.

She began her legal career even before law school, interning at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Summers also assisted with several federal death penalty cases after her first year at law school and even represented her own criminal clients during her third year. After earning her law degree from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, she fought for the legal rights of those accused of crimes in and around Washington, D.C.

Ms. Summers was highly decorated during her law school years, earning various awards. She was a member of the Board of Directors for the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project and ran her local student chapter at the law school. The Innocence Project is a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. Ms. Summers was also on the national trial team and was Vice Chancellor of trials for the Moot Court Board.
